What are Clutches ? or What is clutch?

Clutches are simply defined, that it is a mechanical devices used for engaging or dis-engaging the engine and transmission system of the vehicle.

So the 2nd questions in mind

  1. The motion of crankshaft is transmitted to gearbox through clutch.
  2. Clutch is device used to transmission system of motor vehicle to disengage aur engage the engine with transmission system.
  3. therefore the clutch is located between the engine and gearbox.
  4. So here interesting situation when vehicle is moving on road so let's start,
  5. When clutch is engage the power from the engine to rear wheels through transmission system and vehicle moves on the road.
  6. In normal condition clutch is always remain in engage position.

What happen when clutch is disengaged position can you answer please in comment it..
I also given the answer when clutch is disengaged position power is not transmitted to rear wheels, vehicle is stop but while engine is still running position.

Clutch work on principle of friction. Whenever to friction surfaces are contact with each other and press the unit due to to friction between them and revolve as single unit.

The main component of clutch
  • Clutch withdraw mechanism

  • Clutch withdraw mechanism
Clutch withdraw mechanism includes the foot pedal,clutch housing,levers etc. because of it is necessary to put and hold the clutch in disengaged position clutch withdraw mechanism is necessary.
When your foot pedal is press the housing disengage the clutch and when the the manual pressure from the foot pedal is remove the house income to its original position and clothes is engage again due to that clutch withdrawal mechanism is where is necessary in clutch component.
  • Clutch plate.
It is made by the segment of spring and the material is Steel in series around the central hub and and and the surfaces of friction are riveted to the segment with the help of helical spring are provided to damp out of vibration.

  • Pressure plate
Main function of chocolate is is to provide uniform Excel pressure to clutch plate.
  • Cover 
is made of steel bracing bolted onto of flywheel which houses the pressure plate assembly.

It should have holes for dissipation of heat.
