JOB DESCRIPTION :

Do you love designing and implementing elegant software solutions in Python?  Do you enjoy solving problems and automating workflows for Silicon IP Design teams?  The Cadence IPG CAD engineering team is looking for you!  Our team builds beautiful web frameworks, client/server applications, as well as other specialized scripts that are used to design, verify, and qualify cutting-edge IP solutions for internal and customer System-on-Chip (SoC).  The IPG CAD engineering team uses DevOps techniques inspired from the application-design (software) industry to the rapidly growing semiconductor Intellectual property (IP) space.  The role exposes the candidate to:  The Python programming language, open-source web frameworks, shell scripting, the Cadence Skill language state-of-the-art software development methodologies within GitLab/GitHub Continuous-Integration/Continuous-Development (CI/CD) methodologies such as Jenkins full-custom IC (design and layout) and ASIC design flows database-centric apps with various front-end and back-end interfaces Cadence Design System Inc.’s vast array of EDA tools like Virtuoso and Pegasus Physical Verification System (PVS). 

The candidate’s background should be in computer/software engineering or computer science, with knowledge in object-oriented software design, specification, and implementation.  

The candidate possesses software design experience and is expected to have some knowledge of at least one of the following languages: python, java, google go, perl, or tcl.  

A familiarity or with high-level web frameworks such as Django or Flask is an asset.

Job Description (Requirements):   - BE/BTech/ME/MTech - Electrical / Electronics / VLSI with experience as a CAD automation engineer  - 

proficiency with interpreted scripting languages with an object-oriented approach such as python or perl  - 

strong background in DevOps including Software Configuration management tools such as Git, Perforce, Subversion, SOS  - 

experience with CAD tool/framework development (stand alone or client/server applications)  - 

experience building REST APIs (backends) and front-ends (Angular)  - Team player with strong communication skills, and ability to work independently on the verification of a portion of the design. - Prior experience in IP development teams would be an added advantage.  Be proud and passionate about the work you do.
